Kougars season comes to an end with Regional DI tournament

May 12, 2022 - The Kishwaukee College Baseball team travelled to River Grove and Triton College on Thursday to participate in the NJCAA Region 4, DI tournament.  After dropping their first game to host Triton College at 10:00 am, Kish would take on Olive Harvey College in the double elimination format second game of the day.  The Kougars would hold a 5-4 lead heading into the fifth inning when a lightning strike delay took place to halt action for about 40 minutes.  Once resumed, Kish would give up 3 runs to OHC in that frame and could only muster to match a couple runs the rest of the way including one run in the ninth.  The Kougars were led offensively in game two by Nate Stear (3 hits, run and RBI), Jimmy Kalyviaris (2 hits, run and RBI), Ryan Nelson (2 hits), Darnell Coleman (2 hits, run), and Isiah Nunez (2 hits, 1 run).  Teammates Will Wojtasiak (triple), Zach Cantu and Tyler Potter each scored a run as well while Blake Novinsky and Tyler Jacobsen had an RBI each.  On the mound, Gavin Gallagher went five innings with seven strikeouts, Collin Quandee 1 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and DEclan McGrath 1 2/3 innings with a strikeout.

The lost to Olive Harvey officially ended Kishwaukee's season.  Tyler Jacobsen was selected as part of the NJCAA Region 4, Division I All Region Team.
