Kishwaukee Baseball signs two more recruits for 2019-2020 season

January 18, 2019 - Kishwaukee Head Baseball Coach Mark Hernandez recently announced the signing of two new recruits to join the Kougars in 2019-2020.  They are pitcher, infielder Ethan Hoffman from Hiawatha High School and catcher, infielder Cody Johnson from Rochelle High School.  Both players will bolster a roster with additional talent for Coach Hernandez and Assistant Coach Jeff Marcley.

Coach Hernandez on Hoffman:  "Ethan is a local student-athlete from our Kishwaukee College district.  Ethan's ability to locate pitches, mix speeds and handle pressure will be formidable assets to his mound presence.  I look forward to watching Ethan compete while keeping college batters off balance as a Kougar. He has a repeatable delivery to work on both sides of the plate and his downward ball movement will produce swings in and around the strike zone. Ethan's strong academic accomplishments and athletic characteristics encourage our coaching staff to develop his quiet confidence as a future career leader from Kishwaukee College"

Coach Hernandez on Johnson: "Cody is another local student-athlete from our Kishwaukee College district.  Cody is an exciting, highly athletic catcher with a well-known plus arm that will make an immediate impact in our program. He will be a tough middle of the order type hitter that can compete on every pitch to drive in runners. Defensively, Cody will receive specialized instruction while working with Coach Jeff Marcley.  Coach Marcley is our programs catching guru that has developed and moved student-athletes forward with professional level skill sets behind the plate. Cody's relentless work ethic combined with instruction from Coach Marcley will drive and develop his mechanics to an elite level catcher from Kishwaukee College".

Kishwaukee College competes in the Arrowhead Conference and against other NJCAA Region IV baseball programs.
