Kougars host Regionals beginning this Thursday, four players selected All Region team

May 8, 2018 - The Kishwaukee College baseball team will begin regional play this Thursday, May 10.  The Kougars (33-22-1 overall) will host this year's event and will play the first game of the double elimination tournament at 10:00 am against Triton College (31-22 overall).  Game two will feature South Suburban (35-17-1) versus Olive Harvey (9-38 overall) at 1:00 pm.  The losers of the first two games will play immediately following approximately 4:00 pm on Thursday.  Play will continue on Friday and Saturday.

The Kougars also learned that four members of this year's team were recognized as All Region IV team.  They include infielder Joseph Locascio, outfielder Tommy Hansen and pitchers Marc Soto and Evan Sutta.  Locascio batted .389 with an OBP of .488 and led the Region and the nation in stolen bases with 55 on the season.  Hansen batted .324 with an OBP of .381, 9 doubles and 3 triples plus 26 stolen bases.  Soto was 7-4 on the mound for Kish with a 3.76 ERA and 79 strikeouts to only 11 walks.  Sutta was 6-3 with a 2.52 ERA and led the team with 82 strikeouts with just 18 walks on the year.
