Kish Baseball tacks on another good win vs Lake County 16-6 as regionals draw closer

 

May 2, 2018 - Kishwaukee College's baseball team have run their record to 32-20-1 after taking a nine-inning affair 16-6 in Malta against College of Lake County on Wednesday.  Gianmarco Marcelletti, David Villafane, Tavaris Terrell and Jonah Artiles each had three hits to generate the Kish offense.  Dylan Smith (2 hits), Matthew Morgan (2 hits, RBI), Tommy Hansen (hit, run scored, RBI), Alex Soto (run scored) and Khalil Harris (run scored) had key offensive contributions to help Julian Hidalgo (5-2 record) to the pitching victory.  Hidalgo posted six strikeouts and gave way to Luke Hooker, Jan Mattei and Jacob Perkins in the later innings who all combined on the mound to keep Lake County to only six runs.

 

The Kougars, who also finished 13-7 in the Arrowhead Conference, will travel to Lake County on Friday for a single game before concluding the season at home on Saturday against Kankakee Community College in a doubleheader.  Kishwaukee will be hosting the NJCAA Region IV Division I Regional tournament starting on Thursday, May 10 with first game at 12:00 pm.  Seeding will be held on Monday night prior to the regionals.
