Albert Moving On

Matt Albert (Bettendorf High School) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at NCAA Division 1, Eastern Illinois University. Albert was the 2nd leading hitter in Region IV, hitting .416 on the season. He was also 2nd in the conference with 63 runs driven in for the Kougars. Albert led the region with 7 triples and 15 home runs and slugged a ridiculous .855.

 In addition, Albert was named the Arrowhead Conference MVP after hitting an outstanding .543 versus league pitching. He also hit 5 doubles, 3 triples and 8 home runs, while driving in 24 runs. He led the conference in batting average and home runs, was second in RBI's and tied for the league lead in hits with 25.

Lastly, Albert received the Superior Academic Achievement Award, given to those student athletes that have completed two years of intercollegiate eligibility, as well as two years' worth of academic coursework, all while achieving a grade point average between 3.80 and 3.99.
