Kougars Drop Game on the Road

Kishwaukee College lost 9-7 at Joliet, IL on Friday, despite outhitting Joliet twelve to seven.

Jared Johnson racked up three RBIs on four hits for Kishwaukee College. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first, sixth, and ninth innings.

Alexander Martinez shut down Joliet while he was on the bump. Joliet managed just one hit off of Martinez, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his four innings of work.

Thomas Jefferies got the win for Joliet despite allowing seven runs over 5 2/3 innings. Jefferies struck out three, walked two and gave up 10 hits.

Ricky Rodriguez took the loss for Kishwaukee College. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.

The game's last lead change went to Joliet thanks to a second inning rally that saw four runs cross the plate on.

A one-run third inning helped bring Kishwaukee College within three. An RBI double by Johnson fueled Kishwaukee's comeback.

Joliet quickly matched Kishwaukee College's strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the third. Joliet scored on a sacrifice fly by Eric Horbach.

Joliet tacked on another three runs in the fourth. Glenn Kubek started the inning with a single, scoring Steven Wittkamp.

Three runs in the top of the fifth helped Kishwaukee College close its deficit to 8-4. A groundout by Johnson, a groundout by Cooper Vinz, and a solo home run by Matt Albert gave Kishwaukee College life. But, Thomas Jefferies got Austin Allende to fly out to end the inning.

After pushing across three runs in the top of the sixth, Kishwaukee College faced just an 8-7 deficit. An RBI single by Johnson and a two-run single by Vinz triggered Kishwaukee College's comeback.
