Kougars Defeat Black Hawk in Double Header

Game 1

Kishwaukee College jumped out to an early lead on Black Hawk and captured a 15-5 victory on Tuesday at Malta, IL.

With five runs in the first three innings, Kishwaukee College left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

David Salgueiro had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Kishwaukee College's Salgueiro, Gary Garcia, Jared Johnson and Matt Albert combined for five hits and eight RBIs.

Kishwaukee College built up its lead with three runs in the third. A bases loaded walk scored Albert to start the scoring in the inning.

Kishwaukee College tacked on another 10 runs in the fourth. A clutch scored Salgueiro to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Albert's two-run blast and resulted in bringing home Cooper Vinz.

 

Game 2

Matt Albert had two extra base hits, doubled in the fourth inning and tripled in the fifth inning, helping Kishwaukee College to a 7-2 victory over Black Hawk.

Renny Tolentino was a workhorse on the hill for Kishwaukee College. Tolentino pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out four.

Neither team scored until the fourth when Black Hawk got on the board. Black Hawk scored on an RBI single by David Gonzalez.

Kishwaukee College answered Black Hawk's top inning with one run of its own in the fourth. Kishwaukee College scored on an RBI single by Austin Allende.

Kishwaukee College never trailed after scoring five runs in the fifth on two singles and a two-run triple by Albert.

After pushing across one run in the top of the seventh, Black Hawk faced just a 7-2 deficit. An RBI double by Ricky Urbano set off Black Hawk rally. Tolentino got the last out to Black Hawk's Collin Banks.
