The top of the first saw Madison College take an early lead, 2-0. Kanavas doubled to ignite Madison College's offense. A groundout by Ryan Makuski then moved Kanavas from second to third. Bryce Plate singled, plating Kanavas. Madison College added more runs when Plate scored on an RBI double by Jandrowski.
Kishwaukee College quickly matched Madison College's strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the first. Kishwaukee College scored on an RBI single by Johnson and an RBI single by Matt Albert.
Madison College never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring three runs on a three-run double by F Tunison.

Chris Suarez handled Madison College's lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Suarez allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over seven innings.
David Salgueiro was hot from the plate for the Kougars. Salgueiro went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.
Sam Lund had an impressive outing against Kishwaukee College's lineup. Lund held Kishwaukee College hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
