Kishwaukee College Drops 26-6 Game to Lincoln Land

Kishwaukee College lost 26-6 to Lincoln Land Sunday at Springfield, IL despite Trevor Cielenski's two-hit day at the dish.

Lincoln Land easily handled Kishwaukee College pitching as eight hitters combined for 22 hits, 17 RBIs and 24 runs scored.

Lincoln Land went up for good in the first, scoring six runs on two errors and three singles.

Five runs in the top of the fifth helped Kishwaukee College close its deficit to 16-5. An RBI single by Cielenski, a two-run single by Jared Johnson, and a two-run home run by Cooper Vinz gave Kishwaukee College life. Ben Hecht ended the inning by getting Matt Albert to strike out.

Kishwaukee College scored one run in the top of the seventh to cut its deficit to 20. An RBI single by Juan Casanova fueled Kishwaukee College's comeback. Logan Reardon ended the game by getting Johnson to strike out.

Kishwaukee College Comes from Behind to Beat Lincoln Land, 9-8

With the score tied at eight in the seventh inning, David Salguiero came to the plate and singled, bringing home Andres Rios.

Salguiero had a hot bat for Kishwaukee College. Salguiero went 2-5 and drove in one.

The two teams combined for 17 runs and 25 hits, including seven extra base hits. There were seven pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

Rios put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Kishwaukee College. He doubled in the second and fifth innings and singled in the seventh inning.

Juan Casanova, Rios, Daryl Chou and Matt Albert helped lead Kishwaukee College. They combined for 10 hits and six RBIs.

The bottom of the first saw Lincoln Land take an early lead, 3-0. A single by Conor White, scoring Tyler Borski started the inning off. Lincoln Land added more runs when Ring scored on a groundout by Jake Morsch and White scored on an RBI double by Michael Ryan.

Lincoln Land quickly matched Kishwaukee College's strong inning with a four-run inning of its own in the second. Lincoln Land scored on an RBI single by Tyker Ring, a single by White.

Kishwaukee College scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fifth. In the third, Kishwaukee College scored on an RBI single by Cooper Vinz, bringing home Jared Johnson.

Lincoln Land survived Kishwaukee College's surge and put up one run of its own in the third. Lincoln Land scored on an error.

Kishwaukee College went up for the duration of the game after the seventh inning. Additional runs came from two doubles and an RBI single by Casanova.
