Movin' on up

The Cyclones are moving on to the semifinals after a definitive 99-80 win over visiting Kishwaukee College Kougars in the NJCAA Region IV quarterfinals.

Right from the start, the Cyclones dug in offensively and ran to a 17-5 lead in the first five minutes. They were able to force enough turnovers and sink free throws to go up 53-37 at the half. More of the same continued in the second half for the Cyclones to take a comfortable lead and coast to the victory.

Six players saw double digits on offense. Trevon Jones led with 22 points, Jalen Hughes had 15 points (10 assists), Christopher Harrison added 14, Zion Fortune banked 13, and Da'Quan Dunn and Ryan Saunders each added 11. Nine of Saunders points came from the three-point line.

Moraine Valley faces a dangerous Sandburg College on March 1 in the semifinals scheduled to take place at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby.
